At the beginning of 2010 I bought a little 3 egg incubator.
I was intent on hatching little chicks from my girls and my dear
little pekin cockerel,Dave, after seeing everyone hatching on
Unfortunately a week before they were due to hatch, dave
died in an accident. We all miss him, he was fab.
Two of the three eggs hatched and the little chicks were named tikka and nugget.
They were the naughtiest chicks I’ve ever hatched!
In went another 3 eggs as soon as tikka and nuggs vacated the incubator, 2 from eBay-frizzle mix, and one of dave & flowers 7 day old eggs.
I shared 9 eggs between @mumsmuddyducks and @seren9 lovely friends from twitter.
21 days later only 1 of my eggs hatched, frizz! From the eBay eggs. None of @mumsmuddyducks hatched and I think @seren9 had only daves egg hatch- little davina
Frizz was sweet, but as an only chick she required a lot of attention and constant cuddles,
basically she sat in someones hand most of the time, She’s very very tame!
Next some eggs from the lovely @chickenstreet and @seren9 frizzle mix pekins!
Two hatched, beautiful little chicks!
First was a lavender (Sally) next to hatch was spot, a little penguin pekin.
Very cute and a proper frizzle!
I then bought an rcom20 incubator on advice from @seren9 which was the best thing I did 🙂 now I could hatch lots of babies in one go!….which I did!
Soooo More eggs from the fab @chickenstreet! 5 frizzle pekins, 5 lemon cuckoo
pekins and 2 gold laced bantam orpingtons 5 hatched , 2 frizzle
Pekins moony and tallulah, 2 lemon cuckoos jelly and hattie and 1
I got a m&f set of each pekin and dobby the orp is a boy.
I might *definitely by accident and a bit on purpose* hatch some more in the spring 🙂
